The James River Association offers half- and full-day camps in Williamsburg and Hampton for ages 5-17. Through hands-on activities in art, fishing, outdoor skills, and paddling, campers gain confidence, curiosity, and a deeper sense of belonging to the James River. Teens ages 14-18 are invited to apply to join our High School Expeditions: captivating five-day, four-night backcountry paddling adventures along the James River.

Mad Science of Hampton Roads gets kids excited about science. From birthday parties and camps, to after-school programs and assemblies, we are committed to delivering unique, hands-on science experiences for kids ages 3-12. All of our programs happen at client locations including schools, libraries, and homes.

Spring Break Camps at the Virginia Living Museum (April 6–10, 2026 | 9am–3pm) offer hands-on science fun for ages 3–11. 

Younger campers explore fish, birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians, while older campers dive into the miniature world of plankton, insects, and molecules. 

$260 Members | $290 Non-Members. Campers must meet age requirements by the first day.

YMCA Summer Camp is packed with themed weeks, swimming, outdoor adventures, creative projects, and new friendships. Every day brings something different, and every camper belongs. Summer Camps are offered at multiple YMCA locations in Williamsburg, Yorktown, Newport News, and Hampton. Register now and let the summer fun begin.
